Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading session in green territory, encouraged by the growth of three sectors.
By 09:50 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 0.02% to 8,884.37 points, adding 2.52 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 7.4 million after 203,700 shares changed hands through 162 transactions.
The industrial sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 0.86% as Industries Qatar went up 1.81%.
On the flipside, the goods and services sector headed the bourse’s four losers falling 0.72%, dragged by Al Meera Consumer Goods Company which dropped 2.02%.
Similarly, the banking sector inched down 0.30% as Masraf Al Rayan and Qatar National Bank (QNB) went down 0.83% and 0.25%, respectively.
Doha Bank’s stock led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 35,500 shares, while QNB’s stock headed the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 2 million.
